An apple a day

An apple a day and a drawing a day is where I am these days. Apples are in abundance these days as I’m surrounded by beautiful organic orchards.

A drawing a day seems abundant as well. After months of stepping back from my work, pausing and reflecting on the “whats” and the “whys”, drawing is a peaceful way of going back to the basics of creating art. New and big pieces are brewing...and I’m excited and anxious at the same time. Drawings are the warm up excersizes and they give the mind a break while still allowing the creative energy to move about.

Outside the leaves have fallen and the freezing temps are upon us. The gardens are put to rest and I’m back in the studio. Another day or two will see the pencils get pushed aside to make room for the palette and my paints. It will be a welcomed season.
